Successful unrelated stem cell transplant in Ho Chi Minh City

Recently the Ho Chi Minh city hospital of hematology and blood transfusion has successfully transplanted an unrelated stem cell. Doctors from the hospital performed surgery on a 25-year old patient with leukemia, who received unrelated peripheral stem cells from Taiwan. Total cost for the operation was approximately 40,000 USD, with 80% covered by insurance. After nearly 2 months, the patient is now in stable condition.
