This is also happening at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic has become increasingly complicated, making it more difficult for localities to prevent and fight fire.
A working group from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on July 1st was deployed to inspect, supervise and direct central provinces on forest protection activities. In Thanh Hoa province, nearly half of the province's key forests are being monitored by fire surveillance cameras and forest patrol has been increased three-fold.
To ensure safety against outbreaks, a representative from the Ministry suggested localities maintain a sufficient number of personnel, as well as means, and funds to respond effectively on the spot.
