The street festival included an array of activities, including a bicycle parade, folk dances, a fashion show, and acoustic music performances.
Notably, bicycles joining the parade around Xuan Huong Lake were decorated with beautiful and colourful flowers, drawing much interest from visitors.
In the evening, streets in Hoa Binh Zone in the downtown of Da Lat City were livened up with an exciting lion dance, music performances and dance covers by dance troupes and rock bands, attracting thousands of tourists and local people.
According to Tran Thi Vu Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Lat City People’s Committee, these activities aim to promote Da Lat as a dynamic and beautiful city to domestic and foreign visitors, thus making it a more attractive destination on Vietnam’s tourist map.
Also within the framework of the Da Lat Flower Festival 2019, a conference entitled ‘Targeting to develop Da Lat into a heritage city’ was held yesterday morning, gathering scientists, urban experts, architects and managers.
The participants reviewed the natural conditions, climate, natural landscapes, architectural buildings, culture and people of Da Lat, and discussed the experiences of localities and foreign countries in the country as well as in the management and preservation of architectural heritages.
They agreed that Da Lat City authorities should focus on safeguarding and promoting three core values on its way to becoming a heritage city, the climate and natural landscapes, architectural heritages and cultural values, and people.
