Storm Wipha wreaks havoc in Northern region

VTV.vn - Storm Wipha, the third one to hit Vietnam this year has caused serious damage to several localities in the northern region.

In Hoa Binh province, heavy rains that occurred for almost 24 hours caused flooding and landslides in several localities. Nearly 40 households have been affected. Currently, local authorities have moved people living in the affected area to safety zones and have placed warning signs in dangerous areas. Authorities have also mobilized forces and equipment to remove rock and soil in landslide-affected areas.

Thanh hoa provides 5 tonnes of rice for people in flooded areas

Yesterday, Thanh Hoa Border Guard Command transported five tons of rice for flood relief for people living in isolated areas. Currently, 17 villages in 4 border communes of Thanh Hoa province are still divided. According to local authorities, 148 households in the villages of Na Mèo commune, Quan Sơn District are completely isolated and only have enough food for 4 to 5 days. Thanh Hoa Border Guard forces are using rafts to transport the food across the river to flooded areas to provide aid.
