Police officer dies while helping flood-affected residents

According to data from the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Disaster Prevention, at 11:00 am yesterday, at least one died and 13 others went missing as heavy rains triggered by storm Wipha flooded many areas of Thanh Hoa Province. A police officer of the province was buried by a landslide while inspecting houses in landslide-prone areas.

As a result, Mường Lạt district has had two people killed and one gone missing from flooding. Over 100 segments of provincial roads have been damaged, causing traffic congestion and submerging roads in floods. Many villages and towns have been isolated due to serious landslides.

37 electric posts have been broken and more than 1,500 households in the districts of Thường Xuân, Quan Sơn, and Mường Lạt have lost electricity.

Currently, dozens of households located in dangerous areas have been moved to safety zones.
