According to the Vietnam Steel Association, in the first four months of the year, steel enterprises exported more than 2.1 million tons, up nearly 68% over the same period last year. Although production increased sharply, domestic steel prices have also risen sharply in recent years, by 40-50%, causing difficulties for other industries.
Faced with this situation, Deputy Prime Minister Lê Minh Khái directed relevant ministries and sectors to promote the production capacity of finished steel and prioritize the domestic market by adjusting and balancing the export volume of steel.
