COVAX supplies Vietnam with 1.6 million COVID-19 vaccine doses

VTV.vn - More than 1.6 million doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine arrived in Vietnam on May 16, with the latest shipment coming from the COVAX Facility via the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

This batch of vaccines is part of the 4.1 million doses allocated by COVAX to Vietnam. COVAX, also known as the Global COVID-19 Vaccine Facility, is a global mechanism that focuses on the development, manufacturing, and procurement of COVID-19 vaccines. Vietnam's first batch of vaccines from COVAX arrived in April.

Other individuals set to receive the vaccine include people involved in COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, as well as military and public security officers.
