On Thursday morning, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Academy and extended his New Year's wishes to Khmer people and Buddhist dignitaries on the occasion of their traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival.
The State President affirmed that the Party and State will always guarantee the people's right to freedom of belief and religion, and their ability to carry out religious activities in accordance with the law, especially for ethnic groups like the Khmer people.
The State President also said that the authorities are always working to ensure that Khmer Theravada Buddhist followers and dignitaries can conduct their spiritual practice and fulfill their responsibility as Vietnamese citizens and one of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, thereby demonstrating their patriotism and effective religious practice.
