This was announced at the conference on the 2020 Natural Disaster Prevention of the southern region which was held on Monday in Ho Chi Minh City.
The most important forecast at the conference was that more storms will be hitting the southern region. Provinces such as Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau and Tien Giang will find it more difficult to cope with natural disasters as they are facing landslides, drought, saline intrusion, and subsidence.
Participants made an in-depth analysis of the management policies and proposed solutions to minimize losses for the southern provinces. In addition, the Organizing Committee launched a contest to take initiatives in natural disaster prevention from 2020-2025.
