Vietnam's total new and additional registered investment capital reached 5.58 billion US dollars, accounting for 34% of total investment. This is the third consecutive time that South Korea has topped the list.
South Korean giants such as Samsung, Hyundai, Doosan, Posco and Lotte entered Vietnam to establish production facilities and have constantly expanded their investment. According to data from the ministry, most investment projects were implemented by small and medium-sized enterprises, focusing on garment and footwear production. In recent years, there has been a shift in investment with multinational South Korean corporations investing in Vietnam hi-tech industries, electronics technology, real estate, manufacturing, retail and entertainment services. These projects only account for 5% of total investment project, but are worth more than 70% of the total registered capital in Vietnam.
