South Korea seeks to heavily punish drunk driving

Officials will seize the vehicles of habitual offenders in order to block them from driving again.

Offenders caught for drunk driving three times within three years will also be investigated under arrest. The South Korean government took action after a car rushed into a sidewalk with a heavily intoxicated driver behind the wheel, killing 1 person. Nearly 270 thousand people have signed an online petition to urge the government to take stern action against the illegality.
