South Korea also now grants multiple entries visas for a period of ten years to eleven Asian countries, including Vietnam. Applicants must work in the fields of law or university education, with no criminal records and no history of illegal stays in South Korea.
In 2018, 440,000 Vietnamese arrivals to South Korea were recorded. The open visa policy of South Korea applied to Vietnam and many other Asian countries is part of the Look South policy announced last year by South Korean President Moon Jae In.
