During the meeting, the Cuban minister informed the Vietnamese leader of the results of a working session between the two countries' ministries of Defense, the implementation results of a bilateral cooperation plan for 2017 - 2019 as well as measures to boost bilateral defense collaboration.
On his part, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng affirmed that Vietnam will create favorable conditions to bolster bilateral defense relations based on agreements the two countries have signed.
