As forecast, low temperatures and damaging cold will continue for the next four days. Several mountainous areas will be covered in frost.
The lowest temperatures in lowland areas range from 8 to 11 degrees Celsius, 5 to 8 degrees in mountainous areas and below 3 degrees in several high points in the region. Meanwhile, the south central region will witness heavy rain.
Notably, Mount Mau Son in Lang Son province witnessed temperatures below 0 degree Celsius on Tuesday, with snow falling in the area. As the cold spell is forecast to last until the weekend, snow is also expected to continue in Mount Mau Son.
