VTV.vn - This is one of the Singaporean government's efforts to bring a healthier living environment for their people.

Owners of older and more polluting motorcycles are being offered up to SGD3,500 to deregister their vehicles over the next five years, an incentive from the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) to improve air quality.

NEA said those who own motorcycles registered before July 1, 2003, are eligible for the incentive if their vehicles have a valid 10-year certificate of entitlement (COE) as of April 6 this year, and are deregistered on or before April 5, 2023. There are around 27,000 motorcycles that are eligible.

The Government of Singapore also encourages people to restrict their own means of transport. This is one of the Singaporean government's efforts to bring a healthier living environment for their people.
