The information was released at a press conference held by the city’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on October 4.
Deputy Head of the city’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control Pham Duc Hai said that after the first three days of loosening the social distancing, all people are very excited and many enterprises have resumed their operation, creating a cheerful and bustling atmosphere.
He noted that as of October 3, the city’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control received reports from the inspection teams on the pandemic control. Accordingly, the 17 aforementioned localities announced the control of the pandemic while three localities have yet to report on the situation to the inspection teams, including District 4, Binh Thanh and Hoc Mon.
Two localities have yet to control the pandemic including Binh Tan district and Binh Chinh district.
*The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, chapter in Dong Nai province held a ceremony on October 4 to receive donations for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic worth nearly VND24 billion (US$1 million) in cash and kind.
*On the same day, Ha Nam province also received VND7.5 billion (US$329,000) donated by 15 local enterprises to buy COVID-19 testing machines.
*On October 4, Ca Mau province continued to receive thousands of returnees after months of being stuck due to the pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, and Long An.
From October 1 to 4, more than 13,000 Cau Mau residents returned to their homes from other southern provinces.
*Lam Dong province also received more than 700 people returning from southern provinces on October 3 and 4. They were tested for COVID-19 and brought to concentrated quarantine facilities or self-quarantined at home according to regulations.
