This was the initial finding after receiving verification from one bank in the city. As a result, the department has found enough grounds to collect service tax from these cases. But due to the huge number of individuals and organisation involved, with up to tens of thousands, it will be difficult to collect the tax arrears. The City Department of taxation is now working with 19 commercial banks to gather transaction information so that they can collect tax arrears soon.
