This week’s match featured four contestants: Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi from Nguyen Van Troi High School in Ha Tinh, Hoang Minh Dang from Trieu Son High School in Thanh Hoa, Nguyen Dieu Anh from Chu Van An High School for the Gifted in Hanoi, and Nguyen Huynh Gia Huy from Hoang Le Kha High School for the Gifted in Tay Ninh.
In the Individual Warm-up round, Dieu Anh delivered an impressive performance, earning the highest score of 50 points. The other three contestants each earned 20 points. During the General Warm-up section, Dieu Anh rang the bell continuously and answered with confidence and accuracy, taking the lead with 90 points. Meanwhile, Minh Dang was in last place with 15 points.
In the Overcome Obstacle round, participants reacted immediately after the program revealed the first clue. Dieu Anh quickly rang the bell to answer the keyword. Her correct answer, “cigarette”, raised her score to 160 points. “Being in the lead does not mean I can become careless. On the contrary, I need to stay focused to widen the gap and protect my score”, Dieu Anh said after the round ended.
The Speed-up round once again gave contestants a chance to significantly increase their scores. All four contestants fought hard for every question. Dieu Anh maintained her strong performance and continued to give correct answers quickly. By the end of the round, she was still in first place with 260 points. Gia Huy, Phuong Nhi, and Minh Dang followed in that order.
As the contestant with the highest score, Dieu Anh entered the Finish round first, facing a set of 20-30-20-point questions. The Hanoi student correctly answered two out of three questions and finished her turn with 300 points.
Phuong Nhi selected the 20-30-20 point package. She failed to answer the first question, allowing Dieu Anh to gain 20 points. For the remaining two questions, Phuong Nhi used the Star of Hope but she was unsuccessful. She finished the round with 85 points.
Gia Huy was the next contestant to compete in the Finish round. He selected the 20-20-30 point package and answered one 20-point question and one 30-point question correctly, bringing his total to 185 points. Minh Dang was the final contestant in the Finish round. He showed determination by choosing three 30-point questions, but unfortunately failed to answer any of them correctly. At the end of the competition, Dieu Anh officially claimed this week’s Road to Olympia Mount Laurel wreath. The female student finished with 320 points and secured her place in the monthly round.
