Scepticism over US Department of Agriculture fish inspections

Howver Vietnam is worried that evidence from the programme will become part of arguments for US technical barriers which would seriously affect the country’s fish exports and mean more expensive prices for consumers in the US. The spokesperson added that these fish products had already met US market requirements and were widely accepted by American consumers. Therefore, establishing such an inspection programme was unnecessary.
