'Sapa love market' becomes new tourism attraction

This cultural activity will be taking place in Lao Cai province on Saturday and Sunday of this week.

The origin of this activity stems from the time when traveling between places in the mountainous region was still difficult. Visitors will need to arrive in Sapa on Saturday afternoon and stay there overnight to make it in time for the Sapa fair on Sunday morning.

During their nightly stay, people will meet and talk, exchange wine glasses, sing songs, and spark romance. This will become Sapa's new nightly tourism attraction, both to preserve the tradition and help visitors better understand its value.
