The event takes place on the birthday of Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and celebrates International Russian Day June 6. The week is featured with scientific seminars on teaching and learning Russian, sample lectures, exhibitions, and poetry fairs.
Konstantin Vnukov, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam said: I think that the development in Russia-Vietnam relations requires more Vietnamese experts that know Russian. By these activities, we support Vietnam and Vietnamese lecturers regarding Russian teaching methods to attract more students.
Russian and Vietnamese linguists, teachers, and lecturers at high schools and universities attended the event. It was a platform for to exchange experiences.
Natalia Shafinskaya, Director, Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Hanoi said: What sets the event apart is the exhibition where Russian learning and teaching textbooks are sold. Any Russian speaker can meet people with shared interests while buying these valuable books.
"We've wanted updated Russian books like The Russian's World. We have longed for it", Phung Trong Toan, President, Russian Literature and Teacher Association added.
From now to June 9th, seminars, exhibitions, Pushkin poetry nights and many other activities will take place.
