Softline is a Russian IT company. 7 years ago, the company needed to open a representative office in Southeast Asia and they decided on Vietnam. The company’s customer base has trebled and it has also opened representative offices in six countries in the region.

In recent years, Russian small and medium enterprises are seeking more new markets due to the volatility of the Russian economy. The number of Russian businesses interested in Vietnam has also increased significantly.
Vladimir Samoukin, Lead Manager, Marketing Department, Istochnik Plus, Russia said: Many Russian investors believe that Vietnam is seeing a great development.
Since 2012, the Russian State Duma has implemented a project to bolster economic ties with Vietnam. Many Russian businesses have come to Vietnam to seek opportunities.
“Vietnamese businesspeople speak Russian very well, so we find it easier when working with small and medium-sized businesses in Vietnam”, added Vladimir Samoukin.
Maxim Golikov, Head, Russian Trade Representative Office in Vietnam said: For many Russian firms, Vietnam is still a new market. We have received many requests from Russian companies, which have asked for information about the market, policies and laws of Vietnam, even the requirement for business meetings.
The Russian Trade Representative Office in Vietnam is expected to open a Trade House in Hanoi this year. The facility will not only give businesses information but also provide finance for Russian small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.
