VTV.vn - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is currently on an official visit to Vietnam, held a meeting with State President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong. The top leader affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people have focused on consolidating and developing a comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia.

Informing the host of the outcome of his talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Medvedev said the two governments will coordinate closely with each other to organize activities throughout 2019 as the two nations celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on the fundamental principles of Vietnam and Russia's friendship and prepare for the 70th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020.

Also on the same day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. At the meeting, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that Vietnam's NA has always maintained its close cooperation with law-making bodies in Russia and at multilateral parliamentary forums.

Medvedev spoke highly of the role of parliaments in creating legal foundations for the boosting of the two countries' ties and expressed the hope that they will continue their sound relations, providing a basis for bilateral ties to grow across the board.
