Jointly held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the contest was launched last June and received 5,291 single photos and photo collections from 900 authors across the nation.
The works follow the theme of the contest, focusing on the beauty of the nature and people in Vietnam’s sea and islands, as well as capturing daily life moments, activities, customs, and the culture of coastal people, in addition to the training and readiness to protect the national security and sovereignty over the sea and islands by the Vietnamese armed forces.
Over 200 high quality art works entered the final round and are highly aesthetic, which gives the viewers a deep impression of the beautiful landscape and the beauty of the inhabitants, as well as the silent sacrifice of soldiers who are protecting the country’s sovereignty and peace in the homeland’s sea and islands.
The organisers decided to award two first, three second, three third and 10 consolation prizes for winners.
The exhibition featuring 200 photo finalists takes place until November 23.
