VTV.vn - The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will provide Tam Ky city in Quang Nam province with non-refundable aid of US$9 million to help the city with its smart city building project.

The People’s Committee of Quang Nam province and KOICA held a signing ceremony on the implementation of the smart city building project on December 6.

The project aims to develop a smart urban data platform in order to build smart urban services, enhance the capacity of handling administrative procedures, create a space to support enterprises and start-ups, and manage the environment and transport, among others.

The project, which will be implemented in the 2020-2024 period, is expected to become a model project to duplicate to other localities across the country.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Chairman of Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh said that KOICA has paid much attention and care for Quang Nam, adding that this KOICA-funded project is the second largest project after the project on the building of Quang Nam General Hospital.

The province pledged to fulfill its responsibilities as discussed and it expects that KOICA will give the city enthusiastic support to soon complete the project.
