“The contest aims to introduce Korean culture to Vietnamese people through art and boost cultural exchange between the two nations,” said Park Nark Jong, director of the Korean Cultural Centre at the conference.
Jong said this – the first ever contest of its kind sponsored by the RoK – will run from October 1 to December 1 and each painter is allowed to enter only one piece of work in the competition.
Contestants must submit their entries from October 1-10, inclusive via e-mail to trungtamvanhoahanquoc@gmail.com or alternatively either hand delivery to the centre or by mail bearing a postmark from October 20-November 20 inclusive.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 1, 2015.
The 1st place winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the RoK in 2016, and the opportunity to participate in art exhibitions along with a cash award equal to the entire costs of participating in the contest.
Jong added that the 2nd place finalist will also receive an all-expense paid trip to the RoK in 2016 to join in on exhibitions while the 3rd finisher will receive a generous cash award of US$300.
The 70 best pieces of work selected from the contest will be featured in a later exhibition in Hanoi that has yet to be scheduled.
