This week's Road to Olympia Mount match features Nguyen Tuan Minh from Chu Van An High School (Hanoi), Nguyen Ha Van Khanh from Vietnam Australian Secondary School (Hanoi), Hoang Dinh Hieu from Tran Nguyen Han High School (Hai Phong), and Nguyen Huy Hoang from Hoang Hoa Tham High School (Da Nang). This is the February match of the third quarter.
In the Warm-up round, Huy Hoang and Dinh Hieu finished the individual round with the highest scores of 40 points, followed by Tuan Minh with 30 points. Van Khanh did not score any points in the first set of questions.
In the General Warm-up round consisting of 12 questions, the three male contestants fiercely pursued high scores. As a result, Tuan Minh secured the top score of 80 points, Huy Hoang earned 60 points, Dinh Hieu acquired 50 points, and Van Khanh remained at the bottom with 20 points.
In the Overcome Obstacle round, the competition between the 4 contestants was also intense. Tuan Minh and Dinh Hieu both scored points from the first and third horizontal lines. Immediately after stepping onto the second horizontal line, Tuan Minh answered “Lê Hữu Trác” and gained a significant lead over the other contestants. Tuan Minh took the lead with 140 points.
The Speed Up round was an opportunity for the contestants to gain points and close the score gap. However, the contestant who made the most of this round was Tuan Minh. This schoolboy consistently gave the fastest answers, outpacing his competitors.
In the Finish line round, Tuan Minh - the contestant with the highest score - was the first to cross the finish line. He chose the package of 3 questions worth 20 points each but did not answer any of them correctly. Surprisingly, Tuan Minh still scored a significant number of points by successfully answering his opponents’ questions, finishing, ending the round with 390 points.
Huy Hoang chose the package containing two 20-point questions and one 30-point question. He answered 1 question correctly and 2 questions incorrectly, concluding the round with 150 points. Meanwhile, Van Khanh arrived at the finish line in third place. She selected two 20-point questions and one 30-point question but failed to score on all 3 questions, finishing with 70 points.
Wrapping up the Finish line round was Dinh Hieu. The male contestant chose 3 questions worth 30 points each and pinned his hopes on the second question. As a result, Dinh Hieu only answered two out of three questions correctly and ended up with 80 points.
Therefore, Tuan Minh has won the laurel wreath in this week's Road to Olympia Mount, moving closer to the opportunity to compete in the final round. Sharing his thoughts at the end of the program, Tuan Minh expressed his joy at winning. This victory motivates the contestants to continue their fight in the Quarterly competitions.
