The Month 3 - Quarter 1 contest of Road to Olympia Mount 2025 saw a fierce competition among four contestants: Phung Manh Dung (Quang Oai High School - Hanoi), Pham Anh Tho (Nguyen Van Troi High School - Ha Tinh), Mai Quang Dung (Vinh Linh High School - Quang Tri), and Nguyen Quoc Phong (Trung Vuong High School - Hung Yen).
The first contestant to enter the Individual Warm-up round was Manh Dung, who scored 30 points from six questions. Meanwhile, Anh Tho earned 20 points, Quang Dung also scored 30 points, and Quoc Phong gained 10 points.
In the General Warm-up stage, Quang Dung rang the bell several times with correct answers, boosting his score. At the end of the round, the scores stood as follows: Manh Dung and Anh Tho both had 25 points, Quoc Phong had 15, while Quang Dung led with 40 points.
The keyword in the Overcome Obstacle round was a 9-letter puzzle. The first question saw a variety of answers, with only Quoc Phong scoring points. Afterward, Manh Dung quickly buzzed in, guessing "Cuc Phuong". Simultaneously, Anh Tho rang the bell with the answer "Tay Nguyen".
Though both contestants had their arguments, Anh Tho’s answer was correct and earned her the lead with 85 points. The updated scores were: Manh Dung and Quoc Phong with 25 points each, and Quang Dung with 40 points.
The Speed-up round is known for its intense competition, where contestants can quickly close the gap or take the lead.
In the first question, all four contestants answered correctly, with Manh Dung being the fastest, earning 40 points. However, a question about Vietnamese towers stumped all the contestants. In a logic-based question, Quoc Phong scored the most points, while Manh Dung scored 30, Quang Dung 20, and Anh Tho 10 points.
At the end of this round, the scores were very close: Quang Dung led with 130 points, followed by Manh Dung with 125, Anh Tho with 115, and Quoc Phong with 105.
As the temporary leader, Quang Dung chose the first set of three 20-point questions in the Finish round. After missing the first question, he regained his confidence and scored 20 points on a painting-related question to finish with 150 points.
Similarly, Manh Dung selected a set of three 20-point questions. He answered the first question correctly but missed the second. He excelled on the final English question, scoring another 20 points and temporarily taking the lead.
Anh Tho was next, opting for three 20-point questions. Quang Dung attempted to answer a literature question but failed to score. This question proved frustrating for both contestants. On the second question, Manh Dung rang the bell with the correct answer, earning 20 points from Anh Tho's pool. For the final question, Anh Tho chose the Hope Star option, scoring an impressive 40 points.
Quoc Phong took a daring approach with a set of three 30-point questions. He aced the first question but missed the practical question, allowing Quang Dung to attempt an answer. Unfortunately, Quang Dung’s incorrect response resulted in a 15-point deduction. Quoc Phong used the Star of Hope on the final question, but failed to score.
The laurel wreath for this week’s show, and a ticket to the Quarter 1 Finals, went to Manh Dung, who finished with 185 points. The final scores were: Manh Dung 185 points, Anh Tho 135 points, Quang Dung 125 points, Quoc Phong 105 points.
The four contestants for the Quarter 1 Finals are Tran Le Minh Triet (Ho Chi Minh City), Le Quang Duy Khoa (Hue), Phung Manh Dung (Hanoi), and Vu Viet Hoang (Thai Nguyen).
