Authorities hope to see road casualties fall below 8,500 and reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi and HCM City. The number of road traffic fatalities reached 8,685 in 2016. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have suffered 41serious traffic congestion spots and the country recorded 4 million traffic violations.
