Robert Kiyosaki, the American author of the worldwide best-selling book series on personal financial education “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, is expected to meet with Vietnamese readers in Hanoi on November 16, according to the local news site VnExpress.

As planned by the organizer Thang Long Group, Kiyosaki will have a talk show at My Dinh Athletics Palace in Hanoi on the global economic downturn and the orientation to develop in a difficult economic situation through a business strategy of Thang Long Group.

Kiyosaki has written more than ten books and sold 26 million copies worldwide. His most famous book is “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” which has been translated into 51 languages and issued in 101 countries.

Published in 2000, the book is largely based on Kiyosaki’s childhood upbringing and education in Hawaii. It advocates financial independence and building wealth through investing, real estate investing, starting and owning businesses, and increasing one’s financial intelligence to improve one’s business and financial aptitude.

As described on Amazon.com, Kiyosaki developed his economic perspective from two very different influences - his two fathers. His biological father was a highly educated yet financially poor man. The other was his best friend’s dad who was an eighth-grade drop-out but “then became a self-made multi-millionaire.” Taking that message to heart, Kiyosaki stresses in the book the ownership of high value assets that produce cash flow, rather than being an employee.

Mixed opinions have been raised around the book. Many people said Kiyosaki just mentioned small lessons in the book and has failed to present specific advice on how to become rich while others praised that the book is highly educational.

Apart from writing book, Kiyosaki also works as a businessman and an investor.
