VTV.vn - Press management agencies need to have a strategy for training and promoting journalistic human resources in line with the development trend of modern journalism to meet the demand for information in the digital era.

The information was discussed at the forum entitled “Innovation in journalism and communication training in the digital era" held in both in-person and online format by the Ministry of Information and Communications on December 16.

At the event, representatives of press agencies, press training institutions, and enterprises using resources in the field of journalism and communication presented in-depth speeches on the current situation of journalism training, training models in the world as well as opportunities and challenges of journalism in the industry 4.0.

In the context of digital transformation, it is necessary to strengthen students' ability to create content on digital platforms, not just text but also numbers, data, and images to create more attractive press works, said Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

From the perspective of a press agency, Deputy General Director of the Voice of Vietnam Vu Quang Hai stated that, unlike traditional journalism, the approach to information of the public has changed greatly in the digital era, so the press has to innovate its journalism thinking, technology, and working habits.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Le Quoc Minh reviewed the current situation of journalistic training and forecasted the trends of world journalism and its impacts on Vietnam's press activities in the future.

Le Quoc Minh, who is also deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, emphasised that digital transformation is not only an investment in technological innovation, but more importantly, the innovation of thinking and actions of the leaders of press agencies to spread throughout the circle of journalists.

He noted that the innovation in journalism and communication training in the digital era is not limited to schools, but it is also necessary to carry out training in connection with the journalistic environment while continuously updating the world's journalism trends for effective performance.

In addition, it is significant to focus on improving political bravery and professional ethics for journalists to help them perform their functions and tasks well, Le Quoc Minh added.
