The resettlement site covers eight hectares with 100 houses. 57 houses have initially been constructed. Each house has an area of 42m2 and cost more than 3.000 USD. Muong La District aims to soon finish the construction of remaining 43 homes.
One of the biggest challenges is the limited land available for resettlement in the district. Son La's officials aim to allocate land for affected households and change their farming methods and crops to help resume their lives.
