In Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Vietnam Television (VTV) launched the “AI News?” campaign and the new program Real - Fake, Verify. Produced by VTV’s News Department in collaboration with public security agencies, the five-minute program airs daily at 7:55 P.M. on VTV1, after the 7 P.M. News, and is also available on VTVgo and VTV’s digital platforms.

Speaking at the launch, VTV President Nguyen Thanh Lam identified four major sources of misinformation: AI-generated content, social media algorithms, users lacking fact-checking skills, and deliberate disinformation. He stressed that each requires a different response.
Against this backdrop, Real - Fake, Verify will address issues of public concern, reveal how false information is created and spread, and equip viewers with practical fact-checking skills via concise and accessible explanations. The program will also highlight online scams and emerging forms of AI-enabled deception, helping audiences better identify and protect themselves from false content.

A modern, flexible, and multi-platform format
With a running time of just five minutes, the program uses a concise, fast-paced format suited to today’s viewing habits. As well as identifying misinformation, it examines how false content is created and spread, particularly through AI, and the consequences this can have. The program also features verification and conclusions from the Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) and local police forces, ensuring that the information provided is reliable while offering practical guidance to help audiences identify and verify suspicious content online.
To create a fast-paced and engaging format, episodes will initially be pre-recorded and edited. At the same time, the team remains ready to go live when major breaking stories require an immediate response. The program will also be a key part of VTV’s multimedia ecosystem, with platforms such as VTV News, VTV24, VTV Index, and 24h Movement helping extend its anti-misinformation message to a wider audience.
Alongside the launch of Real - Fake, Verify, the Digital Trust Alliance, in coordination with the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the National Cybersecurity Association, and VTV, has launched the nationwide “AI News?” campaign. Aiming to raise public awareness and encourage people to verify information before accepting or sharing it, the campaign will promote a culture of responsible information sharing. It will be implemented nationwide through a range of communication, education, and community engagement activities.
Through the “AI News?” campaign and Real - Fake, Verify, the initiators intend to encourage a more proactive, discerning, and responsible attitude towards information while also strengthening digital trust across society. As AI increasingly blurs the line between real and fake, “verify first, believe later” is becoming an essential principle for protecting individuals and building a safer, more transparent information environment.
