In celebration of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam's National Reunification Day (April 30th) and the 46th anniversary of Quảng Trị Province's liberation, Party members and residents of the province held a flower lantern ceremony to pay tribute to fallen soldiers who fought heroically on the Thạch Hãn River.
The River is a reminder of the 81 day defence of Quảng Trị's Ancient Citadel (Thành Cổ) during the summer of 1972.
The Quảng Trị liberation campaign and heroic struggle to defend the Quảng Trị ancient citadel, together with victories on other battlefields, paved the way for the 1975 General Offensive and Uprising that reunited the entire country.
