Quang Nam seeks sustainable coast protection

At the workshop, experts discussed the causes of landslides at local river mouths and coastal areas and proposed solutions. Experts stated that these natural phenomena, especially in Thu Bồn River and Cửa Đại beach, directly affect the livelihoods of locals. So far, millions of US dollars have been spent to address the situation with breakwater building and canal dredging. Yet, according to experts, these are just temporary measures, and long-term scientific solutions are needed to sustainably protect coastal areas.
