On July 23, 1980, Phạm Tuân became the first Vietnamese astronaut to travel to space. He flew aboard the Soyuz 37 with his Soviet companion Victor Gorbatko.
The 130-page publication features documents and photos from the trip, from the preparation stage to launching, to activities onboard and landing. It also contains documents that were recently declassified and published for the first time, which show the close friendship between the two nations. The Russian version was released in 2020.
