Programme launched to promote Vietnam as safe destination
VTV.vn - A tourism stimulation programme kicked off by the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and Vietnam Airlines on February 26 to promote Vietnam as a safe destination amid fear of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Entitled ‘Salute the Sun’, the programme offers visitors with fresh and safe experiences whenever they go across the country, from the Central Highlands, South central region, and Mekong river delta to Con Dao and Phu Quoc islands.

The programme connects local tourism departments, association and organisations, who must commit to provide visitors with price discounts, high-quality products and services while ensuring their safety during their stay in the localities.

As a vanguard participants of the programme, Vietnam Airlines will offer a discount of up to 50% on ticket prices on domestic routes for a group of at least six passengers travelling between March 1 to May 31, 2020.

According to VITA Vice Chairman Vu The Binh, the tourism sector has exerted every effort to mitigate the impacts of Covid-19 outbreak, and has received full participation from hundreds of travel agents nationwide.

Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines Le Hong Ha pledged that Vietnam Airlines works side by side with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and functional associations and agencies to overcome all difficulties caused by Covid 19, contributing to the recovery of tourism and aviation sectors after the outbreak.
