Over the past few days, Super Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) has struck the northern provinces of Vietnam with immense force, causing severe loss of life and property. In response to this critical situation, the authorities swiftly deployed emergency plans, mobilizing tens of thousands of officers, soldiers and militiamen, and thousands of rescue vehicles to ensure public safety, evacuate people, and protect lives and property. Citizens across the country have shown their support, contributing both emotionally and materially, with creative and meaningful actions. In these most difficult times, the spirit of the Vietnamese people has deeply moved even the international community.
To spread empathy and solidarity with those suffering from the aftermath of storms and floods, and to encourage resilience, creativity, and courage for the common cause, Vietnam Television produced the live broadcast "Vietnam's Support".
This is the first time that the Entertainment Programs Production Department has produced a live program in just three days, filled with special emotions and purpose.
Through touching, real-life stories, the program conveys a message: HUMANITY is our support in times of storm and flood. Regardless of their position, every Vietnamese can be a pillar for the country during difficult times.
Behind the Scenes – The Race Against Time
Last night (September 14), the Entertainment Program Production Department – VTV3 held the final rehearsal for "Vietnam's Support" at studio S14. Journalist Ta Bich Loan, Head of the Entertainment Programs Production Department at Vietnam Television, said that although she has been working in television for many years, this was her first time leading a live programproduced in just three days.
The production team works tirelessly for about 72 hours to deliver this special live program.
The limited preparation time brought pressure and anxiety, but the team was fortunate to receive enthusiastic support from authorities, artists, musicians, and singers. Although they couldn’t include every story, the program carefully selected the most representative aspects to inspire and motivate people across the country to overcome challenges together.
The Dual Role of TV Producers
The production team works relentlessly under time pressure to bring this special live program to life.
“At this moment, when everyone in the country is focused on the heart of the storm and floods, each individual and collective, regardless of their position, can contribute in some way. Under the leadership and support of the station’s management, units across Vietnam Television have coordinated to produce live broadcasts, providing a comprehensive picture from various perspectives on VTV. As television producers, we feel honored to take on the responsibility of producing a special programthat will serve as a bridge to share images and unite people in a shared emotion, all while focusing on the communities impacted by natural disasters”, said journalist Ta Bich Loan.
Host Duc Bao shared his special feelings about being part of the program: “As a host and editor, I am always ready to fulfill any task given to me. But with this program, I feel I have a second role – that of a Vietnamese citizen. I feel honored to be able to contribute to the call for assistance and to help rebuild after the storms, so that our people can quickly return to normal life”.
Host Hong Nhung also shared: “Although the program was assigned to our team in a very short time, I feel like an ordinary citizen, eager to contribute in any small way I can. I hope to tell many stories and share many circumstances with the audience, giving them the chance to help the right people, in the right place, at the right time. I hope everyone can be a support for each other and contribute to the strength of Vietnam at this moment”.
