The program will be implemented in two years from 2022 to 2023, with the goal of ensuring effective epidemic control, protect more people's lives, minimize severe COVID-19 cases and deaths, and restore and develop the country's socio-economic status.
Specifically, by the end of the first quarter of 2022, Vietnam must complete the 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 12 to under 18 years, the 3rd dose for people 18 years of age and older as per the vaccination program schedule.
This step ensures there will be enough vaccines to complete the vaccination for children from 5 to under 12 years old by September. To control more COVID-19 outbreaks, all government levels must work on a COVID-19 prevention and control scheme.
It is compulsory to strengthen the capacity of the health system, especially preventive medicine and primary health care. 100% of people with COVID-19 , who have severe and critical development will be treated and cared for.
All vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with underlying medical conditions, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and orphans, are guaranteed access to health services.
