Private sector to invest in power transmission

This information was made at a meeting between the Ministry and the central provinces on power capacity this morning. Private enterprises are allowed to invest in 500 kilovolt substations and connection lines under the PPP model. Then the infrastructure’s management will be transferred to EVN.

In the long term, the Ministry will propose the Government consider adjusting the investment schedule of 220 KV and 500 KV power grid projects. In Ninh Thuan province, fifteen solar and wind power projects with a total capacity of over 1,000 MW have been put into commercial operation, but nine out of fifteen projects have to reduce power generation by 60% to protect the transmission system.
