The investment, which is nearly 2 billion USD, will be allocated from official development assistance (ODA) and from foreign investors.
The project needs to be evaluated by the Government first and approved by the National Assembly. Construction is expected to take place between 2021 and 2025.
The metro line is expected to be used every day by nearly 500,000 people. The loans are set to be repaid from 2026. By 2025, Hanoi is anticipated to have 9 metro lines and the third one from Trôi (Hoài Đức District) to Hoàng Mai District will be 26 km long.
