PM Phuc said the city had transformed positively, especially over the past two years. The PM also pointed out the four biggest challenges for Hanoi, managing a growing urban area, shifting its development model, improving public services, and maintaining social order.
To tackle these challenges, PM Phuc suggested Hanoi focus on tightening the connection between the city and the neighbouring provinces, establishing a science and technology community, building a smart city and preserving culture.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed with some of the 24 recommendations tabled by the Hanoi authorities, including standardising clean water management of the city and building a concentrated social housing area.
