This is the third gold medal won by the Vietnamese chess masters at this year's event. Earlier, the Ho Chi Minh City-born player was crowned champion in the men's standard chess event.
Alongside the men's rapid team title, Vietnam also won two more bronze medals in the women's team rapid event and the women's U-23 team rapid category. With this victory, Vietnam remained in ninth position in the standings with 13 gold medals.
