Vietnam's benchmark 5% broken rice prices were set at 468-472 USD/tonne. The sharp increase is the result of the exhausted Winter-Spring crop and the Summer-Autumn crop not yet reaching a full harvest.
It is expected that the Summer-Autumn crop in the Mekong Delta is will have up to 2.4 million tons of supply for export.
Vietnam Food Association recommends paying attention to the increase in rice inventories among people in Asia despite rice prices increasing across markets, as this could affect demand in the near future.
