Regarding the 2019 Labour Code, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Đào Ngọc Dung affirmed that the adjustment of the retirement age shows that there is a long-term plan to deal with the aging population. According to international organizations, Vietnam will officially enter the aging population stage in 2040.
Regarding the amended civil servant law, the Ministry of Home Affairs' representative said that it would supplement the Government with specific provisions concerning retired cadres and officials who are guilty of making violations during their career.
At the press conference, the Presidential Office also announced the President's order on the promulgation of a number of articles of many laws, including the Law on Organization of the Government, the Law on Organization of Local Governments, the Law on Library and the Law on Entry and Exit of Vietnamese citizens.
