This year, the organisation donated 4.4 billion USD worth of funds and goods to support affected residents. It also transferred a community-based model for disaster control to local authorities. At the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented certificates of merit to the Vietnam Red Cross Society for its outstanding contributions in responding to Storm Damrey last year.
