Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a working session with the High Command of Air Force and Air Defence in Hanoi on April 29, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), and the 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7).
The PM conveyed his regards to war veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of armed forces, labour heroes, war invalids and their families; officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) throughout periods, and militia nationwide.
He said the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification provides a chance to recall the glorious history of the Vietnam People’s Army, the significance and historical value of the great victory, and dedication of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as contributions of people.
The Party and State leaders always pay special attention to the air force and air defence which plays a key role in protecting air space, land, seas and islands of the nation, he said.
The leader lauded generations of the air force and air defence for upholding the tradition of the nation and the VPA in national construction and defence over the past 57 years.
He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Party and State, and the direct management of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, all officers and soldiers of the Air Force and Air Defence will overcome difficulties and fulfil assigned tasks in the cause of national construction and defence.
