Speaking at the meeting, PM Phuc pointed out that the main task of the session was to collect recommendations from scientists for the draft socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030 and the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan.
Based on such information, the sub-committee will analyse and evaluate before developing reports to submit to the 13th National Party Congress, scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2021, he noted.
The Government leader asked the scientists to assess the state of the country in all aspects, including the attainments, shortcomings, limitations and causes,and clarify the difficulties and challenges facing the country in the near future.
He also urged them to propose views, orientations, development breakthroughs, tasks and solutions for the next 5 years, 10 years, with vision to 2045, in all fields, including sustainable development, and a harmonious relationship among culture, society, the environment, economics, defence and security.
Earlier, PM Phuc, who is also the head of the sub-committee, had working sessions with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and several northern and southern provinces to survey the reality in such locales for the construction of socio-economic documents to be submitted to the 13th National Party Congress in the next two years.
