PM urges adaptive and flexible solutions to control the pandemic

VTV.vn - PM Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to assess the situation, propose plans & solutions to restore production and business, and return people’s lives to a new normal.

Speaking at the meeting, the Government leader stressed the need to devise safe, adaptive and flexible solutions to bring the epidemic under control.

Leadership and direction in epidemic prevention and control should be implemented in a consistent manner from central to local levels, he noted.

It is also necessary to continue to strictly implement regulations and measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic and maintain the achievements of the anti-pandemic efforts in the past, the PM said.

He also urged localities to promptly strengthen inspection to prevent mass gatherings in public places and strictly handle violations, helping avoid the risk of community transmission.

According to a report from the Ministry of Health, during the past week, the whole country conducted RT-PCR tests for 3.9 million people, a decrease of 20.2% compared to the previous week.

As for social security, as of September 20, nearly 59,000 tonnes of rice out of 134,000 have been distributed to localities; nearly 17.6 million people (nearly 17.2 million employees and nearly 379,000 employers) received support in accordance with Government Resolution No.68 with the budget of about VND13.9 billion.

From September 18-20, the army provided medicine to treat nearly 40,000 people, gave first aid to nearly 4,000 cases, took samples for testing from nearly 160,000 people, vaccinated nearly 75,000 people, and provided health advice for nearly 55,000 people.
