The Vietnamese leader praised the results of the 8th session of the Bilateral Co-operation Commission between Vietnam and the Philippines which was chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries. He said his current visit was part of efforts to strengthen relations between Vietnam and the Philippines.
The Filipino foreign minister attached special importance to the development of co-operation with Vietnam. The two sides have reached important common perceptions as well as bilateral co-operation agreements in economics, maritime affairs, fisheries, defence and exchanges between people.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the Filipino guest expressed deep concerns before recent developments. He said that threats and the use of force was not the solution to the issue and all involved parties must comply with the international laws to ensure peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region.
